Ready to discover many native and endemic animals from this sea birds paradise island?
Early in the morning you will be transported on a private bus from Puerto Ayora to the Itabaca Canal where the boat awaits you to start sailing to the island of North Seymour. The journey is approximately 45 minutes to the point of disembark on the mainland. At this time, you will start the walk along the path of about 2 kilometers to see amazing wildlife.
North Seymour is surrounded by Palo Santo vegetation, Opuntia Cactus and Parkinsonia shrubs, among other species. The trail is very well elaborated, and, on the route, you can observe the nests of many of the island's official resident seabirds. Frigatebirds, blue-footed Boobies, Nazca Boobies and Tropic Birds are some that are regularly observed. Seymour's land iguanas are not far behind, they have been on the island since the 30s when Captain Hancock and his crew, looking for better conditions for their survival, mobilized some from Baltra Island, a place where goats were already a great threat to the ecosystem.
After finishing the exploration hike on the island, you will return to the yacht to recover some energy and prepare for the second activity, which consists of a snorkel in a suitable place to appreciate the wonderful marine life of Seymour.
In a colorful snorkeling session reef fish, rays, sharks, and turtles accompany visitors who take home a truly unforgettable experience. At the end of this activity, you return to the boat to make a wet landing near the coast of Mosquera Islet or on Las Bachas Beach located north of Santa Cruz in an unpopulated area, this time is to rest on the beach and to take advantage of a paradisiacal place.
The afternoon ends with a fresh lunch on board prepared by the crew members and then prepare for the return trip to Santa Cruz Island.
Enjoy the sailing explorer!
