FLOREANA ISLAND
This is an excellent site for waders and Arid Zone plants. The green sand of the landing beach is due to the presence of olivine crystals. Behind the beach are mangroves and a large salt lagoon. Flamingos nest here - their mud pie-shaped nests are often visible on the far side. Watch out for other waders and also the White-cheeked Pintail. The trail leads to white sand beach known as "Flour Sand Beach", due to fineness of the sand.

First, we will take a boat to Floreana Island, at 7:30 am at the pier of Puerto Ayora. After a tour of approx. 2 hours, we will arrive at Floreana Island.
We will begin our adventure to the Enderby islet where we can observe the different types of birds such as: boobies, seagulls, and frigates. Where we will have our aquatic activity to observe the wonderful marine life that Galapagos offers us.
Then we will head towards our next destination where we will disembark at Punta Cormorant to have a walk around the black sand beach and the pirate cave.
Where we will take advantage of the coastal area to do the snorkeling activity once again.
Cormorant Point is located on the north coast of Floreana Island. The trail has an approximate route of 720 meters, the same that passes through a lagoon, viewpoints, and a medium beach of fine sand. In the lagoon we will find a population of Flamingos and on the beach a nesting area for sea turtles.
To end our day, we will have a delicious lunch by the crew and then prepare for the return trip to Santa Cruz Island.
